poetry - dear gideon

After 16 years of being an absolute treasure in my life, Gideon passed away last weekend. Even as a writer, I don't think I could find the words that could truly express the impact he has had on the lives of myself and my family.

A couple years ago, I wrote a poem for him in the form of a ballade. This poetry form was typically used to address a prince, and I could think of no form more fitting for our prince, Prince Gideon.

Rest in peace, little buddy.
